Artwork Details
Title: Dialogue of Forms

Dimensions: 200 x 100 cm
Medium: Pamor (wos wutah), beugeul iron, copper, brass, 925 sterling silver, 18k gold-plated brass
The Concept: Finding Harmony in Chaos

“Dialogue of Forms” is a bold conversation between tradition and modernity, control and spontaneity, permanence and evolution. Created through complex metalworking techniques—including forging, patination, and heat treatment—this piece visually narrates the unpredictable nature of life.
-
The organic swirls of pamor (wos wutah) reflect ancestral knowledge, hinting at Indonesia’s rich metallurgical traditions.
-
Sterling silver stands for wisdom and clarity.
-
Gold-plated brass symbolizes universal truth and continuity.
-
The raw textures of copper pulse with vitality and energy, reminding us of the dynamic, sometimes chaotic path of creativity.
-
The structured geometry balances the composition, bringing a sense of order amidst flowing uncertainty.
This piece embodies the spirit of ICAD 14’s “UNEXPECTED” theme by asking: How do we find beauty and balance when nothing goes as planned?
