Story Behind Pamor

Since we offer products made with sterling silver, and pamor. we want to invite you to dig into a story behind Pamor. Etymologically, ‘Pamor’ derives from the Javanese word ‘amor,’ which means ‘unite.’ Iron (black) is a material from the earth, while meteorite/nickel (white) is a material from space. Without nickel, pamor would consist only of iron, and vice versa. Pamor carries the meaning of uniting Bapa Akasa (Father of the Sky) and Ibu Pertiwi (Mother Earth), signifying the concept of ‘Birth.’

The utilization of Pamor as a material for jewelry or fashion accessories serves as a response to the challenges presented by time, both technically and etymologically.

We hope that people, especially the youth, will derive benefit and enjoyment from our products. We blend traditional blacksmithing techniques and modern metalsmithing, combined with other contemporary methods, in our creative process. PAMOR PUNTIRAN can be classified as pamor miring. The technique for creating Pamor Puntiran is almost the same as creating pamor miring. The difference is that, before it is combined with the core steel of the keris, its layers are first twisted.
